You must have some ability to problem solve yourself. All you have to do is look and think.
On the door over the fuse box it shows you what each fuse is for. I beleive there is one that says cigarette lighter or power accessory.

Erik, I think he wants you to do it for him.

Have the same problem, hasn't worked in over 3 years, yet radio still works.
Just went to wal mart and brought a universal one for $2.99 and wired it so it sits in my glovebox out of sight. Two wires, one to + of battery, one to - then an inline fuse.
Works great, thinking of doing another one for the Ipod charger, as well as the phone charger, as well as the radar detector.

Once you get that fixed, you can hard wire (tie it in to the back of the lighter's wire) and run a long phone cord from the converter through the dash to the A-pillar and under the front of the headliner, down the rear view and viola! No wire from the cig lighter so you can still put your coffee in the drink holder.
Why would you run from the cig lighter? Just tap into the fuse's...When I ran my radar on my gsr, I run from the fuse box stayed on the bottom of the windshielf and it ran right up to my radar. At the time though I made one of the over head light buttons (Type R's don't have these) turn the radar on or off...easy to turn off on false alarms.
