Well, as my luck goes, I was driving down the interstate on my way home from a local meeting and then BAM!

Wouldbn't you know that I nailed and jumped over a ******* bumper lying on the freeway. It was dark as hell and it seems as though the bumper slid over just perfectly enough for me to hit it square on.

Damage?

Brand new bumper, front lip, corners, possibly headlights, and my brand new fender liners that I had JUST installed at 5:00 today all ruined.

Paint on fenders is fucked up, and the brand new exhaust was pulled off of the hangers. I fixed the exahust at a gas station right away, but the other **** will have to wait.

I simply do not have the money to fix it all right this second.

Worst part is that this weekend there was a huge drag, show, and dyno Import Expo at the local dragstrip, and my car was to be in it under my shop's booth.

Unless I can get the front bumper and fenders re-shot and new corners, I will not have my car there.

Life is ******* peachy!

It's not as bad as I had thought originally though.

When we hit I just knew the car was totalled - we hit it really hard. Lucky for me it was a bumper cover, but at 85mph who cares? It's still going to tear a lot of **** up, right?

If I can get the bumper re-shot tomorrow as well as blending on the fenders, then perhaps I'll still have it out at that big-*** Import Expo this weekend in Atlanta.

...I'll just be missing my front lip and new fender liners.

Oh well, after seeing a Civic flip over and land on top of a freeway divider wall today, I fell as though I'm actually lucky that the damage was not severe.

It's just so damn untimely, that's all! I've been driving it a week as of TODAY!

Dude, reading that about your car makes me sick to my stomach. I think i'm going to throw up. You probably have my favorite honda of all time. Seriously, nothing else I've ever seen stands up to yours, by my personal standards. If I can make it down i'll see you at commerce bro.

It might sound wierd to you as you might not be a believer in this type of thought, but there is quite a bit of wierd luck going around. I've run into several very strange situations in the past few days, that if I had made other choices I would have ended up in a bad spot. Look at it this way, seriously...You maybe shouldn't be going to this show, or somewhere else you had planned soon. It also might have something to do with how much pride you carry with that vehicle. I don't know if you are a religious person, but it's a sin to love a material possesion that much. It might be some sort of punishment. Sorry if this sounds harsh, or I sound like a dick, I don't mean it that way whatsoever. I wish you good luck with your car in the future, and I hope everything works out.

dude, that's how it goes. Of course when you want everything to go right, it all goes wrong.

I guess the best thing to do is realize that you can't change what happened and you are going to do all you can to fix what needs to be fixed.

Sounds a little cheesy, but it's the best advice that I have heard.

Well, back in my high scholl days I used to do a lot of really messed up crap so I'm sure I'm just getting what I deserve, so I wasn't mad at the time.

As soon as I hit it I shut the engine down and coasted onto the next exit. I expected to get out and see a totally messed up front end, with the radiator screwed and the header FUBAR, but instead I saw just those things listed above.

About the pride in a material posession thing. Although I do love my car, it doesn't come first in terms of my family, and as far as "religion" goes I believe in God and all, but I'm not an active member of any church because churches get on my nerves. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and although I probably never know why this happened, I'll just have to take things in stride.

The repair will be super easy I'm sure, but not free. That's where the problem lies, because I just emptied out the rest of my checking account to pay the balance that I owed Honda for the rest of those new parts - which included those new fender liners, front bumper, front lip, etc.

I'm sure I will get even more **** with this car - it's just not supposed to be I guess.

 

Well, while you are driving your super-sick-wicked-setup-civic, you need to pay better attention to the road, get much better lighting if you drive so fast or simply drive slower to have time to react for crap in the road or other drivers.
No joke, and I'm not trying to be an *** either, its just how a logical thought process works and coming from someone who has been in your shoes before.
