The end all thread to: What engine/what car is faster?
Note: This does not take into account many things like torque/hp curves, tranny gearing (though I did take those two into account as much as possible when guessing 1/4 mile times), driver weight, driver skill, tires, drivetrain, suspension, etc. It assumes all of these are of equal calibur. All engine specs were taken from Hmotorsonline.com, all car weights were taken from this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zero...56615, and all stock car 1/4 mile times were taken from this website: http://www.albeedigital.com/su....html. Also, to get an idea of 1/4 mile times, I looked at as many cars on dragtimes.com as possible. If you have better number than the ones here, please let me know, and I'll check into them and update if they are correct.

lol, i thought about that one, but since this is the eg/ek forum, i figured i'd stick to those. if people want me to do crx's, i'm more than willing, lol
I weighed my 92 cx with a B16a and pretty much full interior with around a half tank of gas and it was 2340 without driver. I have neither weight reducted this or added a system or anything else that could add weight.
Does have GSR brakes 4 disc, both sway bars and strut bar.
Weighed on a certified scale that is accurate within 20 pounds and calibrated monthly.
Good info though.
I dunno I kinda see this as a big waste of time. Cuz none of those times are right, theres always freaks. And some are just plain off. See Below..

lol, thats why i put at the top that the calculations didnt take into account drivers weight among other things. but weighing less really does help. i mean, 5 pounds, prolly not, but going from like 260 down to 180 or so will make a huge difference.

if you wanna post up better times, i have no problem changing them. the 1/4 mile times are purely guesses going off times i researched on dragtimes.com.

I kind of like this thread. I'd like to think it will keep the benchracers/noobs/ricers from constantly asking what x car can run with y motor, but then again most of them haven't mastered the search button yet so probably not.
ek's are on my list of to do.......for now, as i work on em, you can kind of compare weights with the cars i do and figure it out from there. and yes, most of this is common sense, but how many people on this board actually have that? lol.
you are dividing 2094 for cx by power of new motor, but not taking into account the extra weight of the motor and tranny. Though I haven't weighed em myself, I've been told by reputable sources that a B swap is about 100 pounds heavier then a D series, which effects calculations significantly.
My cx wieghed 2340 without me and I only weigh around 150 so figure a 2500 pound car with driver and fuel.
The weight of a B over a D is roughly 70 pounds I believe and the H over a B is roughly another 40-50 pounds.
These are rough estimates that I remember from posts a while back.
Otherwise this is good info from a rough standpoint.
The honda builders book has a page in the back with calculations for weight 1/4 times = horsepower
But none of this takes into consideration of drivers ability.

I ran my ej1 at the drag strip last year and got a 16.2. I had i/h/e. I've done a bit of tweaking here and there since then, but i also lost 65 pounds. I'm hoping to break into the 15's this time around.

mine is fully gutted but still have all the stock body trim and glass. has a gsr in there weighed it in at 1800 without driver

thanks, i recalculate the ones i have with that info, and when i do 2 more cars tonight, i'll add in that additional weight.
and yes, driver skill is the biggest mod you can do to your car. one guy may run a 15.5 in your car, while you can run a 14.8. i actually wouldn't be suprised to see a stock b16/b18a/b break into the 14's in a cx/vx or a stripped si/coupe/sedan.
