Default S1 tranny

I searched so dont go sayin search just reply if you know the answer
I got a s1 tranny from a friend who said it is a jdm s1 meaning it is a b16 tranny I know there is also an usdm s1 my questino to you all is how do i find out what one it is I heard you can mark the axle hub and make 4 1/2 rotations with the input shaft in first gear and if the axle hub makes one full rotation to the input shafts 4.5 turns it is a b16 tranny is this true? if not how can i find out what it is ........Thanks in advance guys

S1 is jdm b16 A1 is usdm teg with taller gears.

Thank you for the link my dude but in the link is says it can either be a usdm ls or a jdm b16 my question is how can I tell the difference with the tranny ouy of the car

Ok on my Jdm b16a OBD0 tranny it takes 14 1/4 turns of the input shaft to 1 turn on the axle. The taller should be aprox. 13 1/2 or so . good luck
