DIY question: im gonna be painting my mesh rims.
how would i go about giving it the polished lip look? i was planning to use aircraft stripper. would i have to mask off the lip area when i spray the aircraft stripper or is it ok to just do the whole thing cause im gonna reclear it anyways?
I'd do the whole thing.
Though, mesh wheels are gonna be hard man.. Get ready for some work to make it look good.
I did see a guy though, in the Florida FS forum, who was selling some GOLD LS meshies w/a polished lip: Sexiest Meshies I've ever seen.

I stripped the clear off, sand the rims and painted the whole thing gold...

yea u would have to mask it off but why would u strip them? r they already painted? if not sand prime and paint. (adhesion promoter is highly sugested since it is hard to get into every little place on those rims.

i want to use the aircraft stripper to get off the original clear coat. im thinking about stripping the whole wheel. sand it down for better adhesion of the paint. (which is gonna be gold). mask off the lip and paint the spokes. then spray the whole wheel (including the lip) with clear. sound good? any suggestions?
