Default 2 Oil pan taps

Im currently running a boosted b20 but now i have a b16 head im about to put on. Obviously my oil pan is already tapped for the turbo. Would it be a problem if i tapped it again to run the oil to the head also. I dont see where this could lead to any problems, i just wanted to make sure before i did it.

You shouldnt have to tap the pan to do a vtec conversion. You just need an oil supply like from a filter sandwich or from stock oil sender location and a line running to the head. The Vtec kit will include all of this.

They are about $85+oil line, fittings, shipping, etc. And i wouldnt have to pull my block out. Rather pull out oil pan,tap it,run the line through to the head, then just put the oil pan back on. More simple and cheaper in the long run.

when you tap your oil pan, youre gonna have shavings in there so make sure you clean it good. but you can get oil sandwiches for like $30. or datum1 has a kit for like $95 shipped that comes with the oil sandwich, the ss line and both fittings for the sandwich and the head..

Am I crazy here or something. How do you plan on getting oil pressure up to the head from the oil pan?

Oh my where the first things that came to mind after I read these post in here...

You can not get oil pressure from the oil pan..... If you try to you WILL destroy your head.

You will have to get an oil sandwich.... and you do not have to pull your motor to put it in

The best thing to do is buy a vtec conversion package from a vendor on here. It will make things much easier and you will have everything you need from the start. Just search around in the sponsors pages to find one.. You will thank me later for convincing you to get one trust me

I guess im just alittle confused because where the sandwich goes seems to be where the oil return line is.. it will still work like that?

You can not get oil pressure from the oil pan, it has no high pressure area to get a feed from directly. Hence why you drain your turbo into the low pressure area of the oil pan, if it was a high pressure source the oil could not drain.

Check out full-race. They have a kit that goes into the pressure sensor.

I just thought this was pretty common knowledge, and not particular just your original post, but that it took 4-5 to even get the right answer.

The sandwhich goes between the oil filter and the oil filter housing. You can run two lines off of this. One can go to the head and one can go to the feed line for your turbo. They are both high pressure and there is no oil return line that goes to it.

And also here is a little guide that might help you with your build, they do things a little different, no need to get the head machined when you buy the vtec kit.

i prefure the ac autotechnic oil sandwhich one because it has 4 1/8 npt ports which is perfect. i use all 4 ports
1 for turbo oil feed
2 for lsvtec oil feel
3 oil pressor sender
4 oil temp sender

Alright thanks to everyone for the help. Its appreciated. I already PMed streetrays.

Boostedeg6, you have done this without pulling the block? I'm probably going to have trouble, As far as i can see i wont have much room to work around. Maybe space will open up a bit after i pull the b20 head.

If you have room to change your oil, you have room to install on oil sandwich and lines. Its really not that bad no matter what chassis you have.

yes I have done this to a few cars without pulling the motor.... once you pull the head off you will have more room to work in/around.

You do know that you have to plug a oil port in the head right? you better off going with the kit I posted because it comes with the dowl pins needed, headgasket and threader/plug that you will also need.
