I just double checked the manual. It states;
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Manual »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> FULL 90-DAY WARRANTY If within 90 days from the date of purchase this Craftman torque wrench fails due to a defect in material or workmanship, Sears will repair and/or calibrate the torque wrench free of charge. LIMITED WARRANTY After 90 days and until one year from the date of purchase Sears will repair or replace any defect in material or workmanship in the torque wrench free of charge. This warranty coverage does not include calibration.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I guess you can try and see what they say. Good luck

guess you don't use tools that often. dad is a airplane mechanic and has a series of craftsman/snapon/mac/etc...
everything breaks overtime, its just its nicer to have a truck come by and replace that tool rather than driving to it. but then you have to make sure the truck comes by when you need it because those guys work on commission. they can't replace tools on warrenty when it doesn't earn them a buck

hmmm...why only tq. wrenches? I had a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, broke the end off of it by standing on it trying to break loose my axle nut, it got left out in the rain, was all rusted. Sears gave me a new one no questions asked. Oh, and i had had it for 4 years or so.

Because torque wrenches need more attentions than a forged open end wrench or a screwdriver. I bet 99% of the people that break a torque wrench have it happen because they fail to reset the dial to 0 when they're done using it. The whole disengagement mechanism in ALL torque wrenches can/will fail when a person doesnt relieve the tension when they're done using this tool whereas a box wrench you can just wipe down and throw back in the drawer and it should work the same next time. But then again, sometimes things just break?!
