New engine questions
Alright, a few months ago my head gasket went, and the head is pretty much shot.
The engine I currently have (the dead one) is a DOHC ZC. The block is fine, the head, no so much. When I got the engine, I was a complete n00b, still am, but not as much. The head had a cross threaded spark plug when I bought the engine, which I didn't know until after the engine was already in. So, I'm getting ready to buy a new engine, and have a few questions about the way to go.
I would like to get an engine that has VTEC, so I'm looking at a first gen B16, complete swap, cost around $1500.
My goals with the car is just to have something that is relatively quick, a little faster than the ZC I have now, and something that isn't too expensive. I also want to stay N/A, and avoid any crazy mods since I'm not a mechanic type person. I have a little under $1,000 saved up right now, and the closer I get to reaching my goal(s), the more antsy I become haha, so I don't want to rush right into something blind.
My other option is to get either a new ZC head, or entire engine.
Now, if I stay with the ZC, is there another head that I can mount to the block that would improve performance, or possibly have VTEC? Is there any options for the ZC, or is it basically just as it is and nothing can help it?
Thanks

After looking at some more options....
Does anyone have any information or experience with a D15B? Are additional axles, motor mounts, wiring conversions that need to be done? Are they worth getting?

Alright, I've decided to go with the D16z6/D15b engine... anyone know of any swap guides for this? (Wiring diagrams, parts needed to utilize the VTEC, etc)
Thanks again
Thanks again
p28 ecu
pre obd to obd1 jumper
rywire.com for the ecu jumper
or jdmshit.com
keep your stock tranny with axles. the mounts should be the same.
Easiest swap ever.
A few extra wires running for vtec and a 4 wire o2.
It will be all in the instructions
