I think its better to have a RHD car in left hand drive america.Why?Well,the feeling of driving next to the guy coming the other way is something that makes me feel not as safe,what if he was to crash on my car because he was too close?Also for a right handed person,you are holding the steering wheel most of the times with your right hand,which is stronger and better to drive with and your weaker hand for shifting.Easier to parallel park too!Civics are not that big across so it wont make too much diff.Plus iTz MAddd JDMmm yo!11!one!!1

Some people just need to grow up. The honda scene is over-populated with haters anyway, what difference does it make to ask for prefrence on this subject. There's the lover's and there's the hater's and there's the ones that just try it and those people then either love it or hate it, you can't know which one you are untill you've tried it yourself. Pick your side and do what you will as long as it suit's you... god, my writing seems so text book right now but I guess this is all that can be said to such a bad thread subject and question. Real enthusiast don't care about the prefrence. If RHD is in their head, and that's what they want, then somehow, they'll get it, doesn't matter if it's unsafe or if it get's then bankrupt. That's just the way it goes.
THINK before you post. How can somebody else's prefrence affect YOU in anyway? And how can somebody else's prefrence be original? It can't.

I prefer LHD in this country. I don't care for any extra attention and I don't need to have a passenger pay if I want to go through a drive through.
As far as safety... depending on who does the work (in the event it was a conversion on a LHD vehicle), stock is probably safer. I don't know, I just trust Honda engineers a bit more than your cousin who might be giving you a sweet deal on doing a RHD conversion. Head-on collisions are uncommon anyway.
There's just too many little things that would have to be looked at in order to make it complete too. Door panels, mirrors, the oh **** handle, etc. What about the holes left from the oh **** handle on the new driver's side? I'd hate having holes in my headliner, but then again, I'm really picky about details.
As for JDM Buddhist Palm's post, I didn't read the OP's post as "tell me what to do" but more as "tell me which you prefer and why... just in case I overlooked anything." At least I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
I wish I could tell you what it's like to drive a RHD car, but so far I haven't. The most I got was sitting in a RHD Skyline... and it felt odd. I'm sure after awhile I could get used to it though. Those toll booths and drive throughs would still be a bit of a pain in the ***. You'll have to decide if the inconvenience and cost is worth it to you.
Oh, and I agree, Felliph3's posts make me feel like my brain is being filled with stupid.

It's a valid question. If you read his post he said he's thinking about getting a JDM car but doesn't know if he'll like driving an RHD car. You're all acting like the fact that the car is RHD is his reasoning for buying the car, when in fact he's asking for people who've had experience driving that way so he'll know if it'll be a pain in the *** here or not.
90% of you are just shaping his question to suit your little flame fest.

I've driven RHD before it's weird. I mean it's got that cool JDM coolness to it but I couldn't steer well with my right hand only, and shifting with my left hand was awkward. I could get used to it tho.
There's a lot of RHD vehicles in Canada since it is a lot easier to import them (I see Skylines all the time
)
Anyone I have talked to that owns a RHD vehicle says that they don't have a problem with it. It takes a bit of time to get uned to, but by the end of the week you should be all good.
Drive-Thru's are pretty much retarded and passing on a highway can be very tough.

in my defense im RHD to TRY to differ my car from every other honda..nowadays its impossible now. theres a never ending struggle to be original nowadays
so if you love it, GREAT. if not big deal its not that serious
we obviously share the love for hondas lets just get along already
