Default old nissan pics

was looking at some old pics and figured i would post this to for the nissan guys. it was a peakboost mani/downpipe combo and i fabed all the rest of it. This setup really helped hide the IC that was a good thing since we lived in phx AZ. (lots of theft)

Haha I like how you made the setup to hide the IC piping, then painted it fluorescent pink.

Looks good though.

i like the little washers holding the bov line. I might do that but underneath the piping i think. and for a split sec I was gonna criticize the zip-ties holding the IC/rad

I did that on a gsr turbo kit I made too. i used 3/4" long sections of tubing though. great minds think alike!!

is that the mass airflow sensor hooked up to the intake side of the turbo?

does that do anything wierd? i guess it wouldnt. the volume of air is all the same, its just pressurinzed when it gets to the engine, right?

How can mass change inside a closed system.?

But it can do some odd stuff, when you vent the BOV to the atmosphere between shifting. Because you are dumping off metered air when the engine thinks it is actually there, gives a little bit of a rich condition. But other than that.. stock DSMs have their sensors like shown.

thats what im talking about. i figured i was right and that the mass wouldnt change, i was just asking for clarification.

mass air flow stuff is confusing when you've spent years convincing yourself that MAP was the only way to fly.

Same here. The washers are pretty neat. And the radiator/intercooler brackets looked like zipties for a sec. hehehe

Nice work!

so looking at those brackets for the intercooler, it appears to hang from them is that right? so i assume to remove the intercooler you take out that bolt on the top and it drops out???

also, do you have any pics from the front of the car?

the maf is on the intake side of the turbo yes. just like the stock sr20 motor. One thing we found out is that with it that close to the turbo inlet it did a lot of weird stuff and the car ran like crap. we made an intake pipe about 8in long and all the problems were gone.

The backets have little allen set screws on the side of them. I used them to keep the bolts from rattleing loose and to hold the rad in place. I also put the same kind of system on the underside of the care to hold it up. It was a 2 part system so you could take out the rad without the intercooler.

no pics of the front of the car but if you look at a stock 240 it looked just like that.
you can see how the maf so close could make for some strange airflow readings

Awesome fab!

Also, the front of the MAF looked like a speaker ring for a minute there too!
