Id say rebuild it and go all out with lsvtec.

What you're buying is basically rebuilt too so either way you feel you can save $$...That's what it's all about right? But then again, if you rebuild your motor, you can go up size in pistons and possibly make a tad more power.
It's a matter of time versus money. Just because you want to replace your rings doesn't mean you won't end up replacing every wear part in the world like I would.
^^^true i say rebuild it and put all new bearings, seals, gaskets and do a ls/vtec you will pleased if done right also dont forget a good tune but for all that money you could put 2 new ls in ur car so it is up to you.

you could rebuild your ls.... or you could do what i am about to do to my 170k mile bad ringed ls... and that is take it out and stuff a gsr in there while slowly rebuilding the ls.... you might not find very many gsr's for as cheap as me but you never know, patience is everything
Really depends on your application. Looking for more power, I say replace, looking for reliability, rebuild. Planning on an LS VTEC? Rebuild, planning on going better or higher revving? Replace.

Completely false. The reliability of any engine is enitrely dependant on the assembly and parts used. A properly built ls/vtec is as reliable as any stock Honda engine.

what kind of abuse has that motor taken to need new rings @ 90k miles??
are you sure there aren't other issues? have you adjusted the valves? compression or leakdown test?
I would wanna know what's really going on before spending any money or tearing into a motor.

true these engines are supposed to last a long long time.
I personally rebuilt mine and would rebuild it again. It allows me to have confidence in my engine knowing that I did everything correctly and I can pretty much fix anything that ever goes wrong.
