Default b18c1 question

well i missed 4th the other day and hit second at 90 mph, and spun a rod bearing. the head is fine but the rings and valve seals are shot. im replacing the hole bottom end with new everything. im keeping stock rods and replacing the pistons with jdm ITR pistons. with a stock b18c1 head and this bottom end will i lose power or gain? i plan to build the head when the money comes but right now i just need it rebuilt b/c its my DD. other mods are aem full ram, 2.5 greddy evo2 exhaust. skunk2 intake mani. and dc header. lmk thanks

I think you'd benefit from a tune due to the compression increase.

im not goin turbo. im still debating on ITR and CTR pistons. i feel that CTRs would be to much for a stock head, and i'd loser power. im not sure cuz knowone has seemed to have done it

Make sure you have your valve springs checked. Usually they don't enjoy being severly overreved. It may be worth while to invest in some quality springs while the head is apart for your rebuild. That way when it's time to add some more aggressive camshafts you will have less to worry about.

yea i just picked up a set of ITR springs the other day for cheap, so those will be going in. everything will be mic'd and triple checked, all bearing clearance's will be checked over several times. but my question is..should i trailer it straight to the shop to get tuned. or will it be ok to drive home (about 7-10 miles)
