99% of decks out there will fit.

And did you really need to put CD player & radio in your "must haves"???

Since you didn't bother to tell us what your budget is, do your own research here:

the Sony would probably be a better option,if you get it from circuit city you can get two harnesses one that will plug right into your factory harness and then plug into a universal end that will go into the sony radio so no splicing and tape. if u buy the radio and harnesses together the harnesses are like 30 bucks

Don't buy a Sony HU. Look into a Pioneer or Alpine HU that has the features that you want.

this is a great thread on head units....both csuflyboy and hebrew hammer can be trusted....csu won rookie category this year at IASCA w/ one car and 7th place in the expert class....he installed my system as well.

whatever you do I would highly highly highly recommend getting one with time-correction....it makes a world of difference. basically you can set a delay on either the right or left speakers to compensate for being only 1 foot or so away from left speakers while being 3 foot+ away from your right speakers. it throws my soundstage out to the hood of my car

X2

Sony blows....the only Sony head units worth buying are no longer produced.
the old Sony Mobile ES units were the bomb-diggity shiznite with more features than you could use (at the time) and copper chassis's. all the new Sony decks are crap
Sony needs to stick to home theatre TVs and boom boxes

I would never go with anything other than an alpine. Sony, as everyone else on this thread has said is terrible. There car audio parts are in my opinion poorly made, designed and in my experience unreliable and perform poorly when compared to other products.

i have poor knowledge with stereos stuff so please tell me why sony stereo products blow....i had a sony cdxgt310 and it was fantastic. i wish i never sold it. but please tell me why they suck. alpine is pricy</TD></TR></TABLE>

i've done stereo installs for over 13 years now and have seeen the industry change quite a bit in just about every aspect. the reason i say they blow is because i used to be at shops where the sony decks were sold...and then i would install them. most of the people came back to get an alpine installed after they realized they got hosed on the sony because they didn't wanna dish out the little extra jing to get a better product. most of them only come with 1 set of preouts (that aren't very clean at that) and puny internals. you take your cheapest sony deck and weigh it...now take the cheapest alpine with the same features and weigh it...and then tell me that the sony's worth it. if all you want is a replacement for the stock deck and don't care about sound quality, or CLEAN power output, or RCA preouts, or a better internal DAC, or better anti-skipping devices, or reputation (because alpine has been making aftermarket car stereos just about longer than any other company) then buy the sony.
you get what you pay for.

I had a sony similar to the one you're looking at, and have nothing bad to say about it. I had it for about 10-11 months and it worked perfectly. Granted i got it for a good price, but i'd say it was worth it. At the time i didnt have $200 to shell out for a deck so i had limited choices.

With that said i will say that sony doesnt even compare to alpine, pioneer, etc, so if your looking at doing an install where you go all out than dont go with sony. However, If all you want is a hu to get you through the drive to work and you dont want to fork out a fortune sony shouldnt be ruled out immediately.

Back in 98 I had a Sony deck for two weeks. Traded up for an Eclipse deck. Worst deal I ever made. I hope that is from the 'great Sony deck era', but that Eclipse deck sucked.

Ever since I've ran a Kenwood or Pioneer for decks. JVC isn't too bad to a cheaper deck too. Pioneer is my first choice for quality/price due to the history I've had with their product; including speakers, amps, and subs.

Alpine is awesome. I'd wait for Car Toys to have a major sale (which they're having right now) before I'd buy Alpine though, just cause I can't dump a lot of money on a deck.
