"XTR" clutches?
Has anyone here used one of these "XTR" brand clutches? they are pretty cheap for a stage 1 clutch, but i don't know if its just going to be a peice of crap or not. any info would be appreciated. oh, and also, i only want info from people who have actually had experience with these, not people who are just going to say they are crap because they are cheap.

You got it all wrong. They are cheap because they are crap. Not the other way around.

How is the smoothness on it? is it at all possible to do somewhat slow starts? the stage-3 is cheaper than the stage-2, so i might as well get the 3, unless its going just be too clampy/jerky. Thank you 97grnrs, and HackAbuse.

i dunno what to do, the 90 dollar stage-1 clutch, it says can withstand up to "195hp" (im doubtful) or the 130 dollar stage-3 clutch that can hold up to "300hp" ill prolly never even see 110whp on my car so im not sure.
ok, im confused as hell. is it XTR or XTD that is the better brand?? both have basically the same prices, and look exactly the same, so i have no clue. also, on one of these XTD stage-3 clutches it said "perfect for stock or lightley modified civics" uhh wtf??
I got the heavy duty pressure plate with a organic clutch disc, so it has the holding power from the pressure plate and the smoothness of the organic disc, I have the xtd 8lb flywheel, it really is 8lbs I weighed it and is quite good quality for the price. They have an 800 number just call and he can do whatever setup you want. I think the guys name was jimmy too, although his English wasnt great. It seemed to be all good quality stuff, if I remember right all the stuff came in boxes marked made in Japan, it was not cheap chinese junk
i believe Xtr, Xtd, and F1 Racing are all the same stuff, quality, etc.. i've been using an F1 racing Stage two and lightened flywheel in my single cam swapped rex for nearly 15k with no issues at all. it grabs harder than stock, feels better, its smooth and easy to use, and they are priced great. i have no complaints about them at all and i just ordered the same setup for my b18b swap that i'm putting in my rex, i'm sure it will hold up just as well. i did alot of research on these at first as i too was skeptical of their quality but i found the general consensous to be that they were a quality product, the only people i found dissatisfied were jackasses who did'nt give them the proper breakin period and beat on them out of the box.
i had one F1 stage one clutch break when i had my zc. i think anything would have busted though, i didnt give a **** and abused the **** out of the poor thing.
the friction section of the disc ended up snapping away from the hub.
whoops. i have an xtd stage 2, 6 puck on my b16 now. it grabs like hell. all i can say is that there is some chatter, but it is a 6 puck

I hate to be the guy to point this out, but with 110whp, won't a stock clutch work just fine? I mean i've had one on my DOHC ZC swap for years and never had a problem. A stock disc is $65, and you can probably re-use your pressure plate or have it machined unless it's totally fubar.

I have driven a few cars equipped with XTD, not XTR. They weren't bad, a little jagged feeling on the pedal but overall not too shabby. How they hold up to daily and sometimes abusive driving, I would not know. I am however in love with my Exedy / Daikin Stage 1. Exedy made the OEM clutches for all of our cars, I just figure leave it to them to make the best aftermarket piece as well. Exedy
