Default Considering an EP3. Looking for some answers/opinions.

Alright, so recently, i've seen an EP3 for sale locally.

2003 Honda Civic Si
Original Owner
All Records
No Accidents
56,000 Miles
New Tires
Power Windows and Locks
Power Moon Roof
ABS - Dual Airbags
AM/FM CD Player
Excellent Condition
$12,950 (Phone Number)

I've seen EP3s go for around 15,000+ with similar specs on Autotrader. So I'm figuring that this is a pretty good deal.

Although, I don't have 13 grand to drop, is it possible to get loans for private sellers? I bought my Integra straight cash, so I'm not sure how loans really work. The only way I could get this is if I could pay monthly.

I've wanted an EP3 since I was like 15 or 16. This is pretty much my dream car (I know, I have light dreams )

Also, you EP3 owners, how does this price sound, anything I should look for if I hit up the guy about that car?

Heres some shitty pics:

Alot of other hondas are better and cheaper to get. 99-00 si, GSR, RSX. EP3 isnt a great car. Sorry EP3 owners, but its the truth.

Well i'm not a 2 Fast 2 Furious racer so I think i'll be alright.

Regardless, I think its better than the 1992 B18a1 i'm rolling with now.

Prices vary on these cars. For instance I'm selling my 02 Si for $10K stock (45K miles). There is a demand for these now that they aren't available anymore. I need to let mine go cause I don't need 3 cars. Good luck to you on your findings.

I've had an EP3 for about a year and a half now and its been a great car for me and my fiancee. Sure, its no type s or type r, but its a fantastic car nonetheless. The engine is reliable and gets great fuel economy (I see 25/31 city/highway, rarely full throttle, usually 1/4-1/2 throttle). We have benefitted numerous times from the cargo space. And its fun to drive every day.

I was never a big fan of the EP3. If you really want to get one, I'd pick up 97 TYPE-R 312's EP3 he's selling for $10k. Can't beat that.

But if I were you, I'd try to get an RSX, DC2, or EM1. I'd even roll in a Fit before an EP3. Not to put down the EP3, but like another poster said, I think there are better options.

I just bought my '02 for $11,000. Adjustable Tokicos, S2k push button start, Konig's, strut bars, intake, DC header to Hayame exhaust, and 45k miles. Oh and VAFC2.

For the cost of an RSX-S with similar miles u could pick up the EP3 and have money left over to put in an K20A2.

To the original poster since u like the looks of the EP3 which is what turns most people off them i would say definatly look into one.

Also check out the car classifieds on http://www.ephatch.com and u might be able to find a good deal on one as well.

I like EPs and in general, European hatches/wagons. Look the best in white or black, damned Canadians got red. I looked at a few new ones and then bought the Mazda because I wanted a 4-door hatch with great handling and a drivetrain that did well in city and on road trips...spent more though (but got a lot more goodies). We'll see how this car is, any problems and I'll be back to Honda for a DD.

Good luck man, I think they are solid little cars and great for a DD.

you drive DC5...so I wouldn't be shitting on EP, since your car is no different...same shitty front susp and steering rack design.
Plus base rsx comes with shittier version of k20a3 ( plastic intake mani and shiet), longer gear ratios and some even with automatic transmission.
Plus we all know EP3 looks better

Your car is priced well, but he's in N.C. and you're in CA and your car is a salvage title , but again not a bad deal.

I'd take one with a salvaged title. Depending on how good the work done to it was.

I thought this thing was sold, but I found it in a different parking lot. I believe its a dealer selling it. I really should call and see if I can get this thing on monthly payments.

And too all the people telling me to get an RSX. I would, if I found one for sale.

I rather have an EP3 actually. Not many of them around me, plus i've always loved the way they look. Practical and they've got decent performance.
