Default Probe or stock rods?

Im gonna rebuild my gsr block soon, i got new oem p73a pistons, hasting rings, oem bearings will be purchased after tear down. Are probe rods any good? Or should i just stick to my stock rods with arp rod bolts? Its a daily driver, mild build, stock bore, BC3 cams, bolt ons. Or should i go with eagle rods?

If your using oem pistons than stay with the stock rods. The aftermarket rods are for a floating pin and the stock pistons are designed for press fit.You would need to have the pistons cut for clips.

Would i have any problems reusing the stock rods? I have new wrist pins but a co-worker mentioned that the stock rods may be worn and cause the wrist pins to become loose at high rpm's. Should i be concerned about that? Also, he told me that i should take it to the honda dealer, because they have a special press, would a NAPA shop be able to press the wrist pins in? Thanks

any machine shop would be fine with the press. About the rod. get the rod honed and polished if you can, they should be fine if your motor still low mile.

Yeah, only 70k miles, mostly low speed highway miles. How much does honing and polishing the rods usually cost. There is only a NAPA engine machine shop around here and they mainly work on domestics.
