Default which is the best fmu for the money?

I have a 99 gsr that I just put a turbo on. I threw in 440 injectors and it is running really rich(I assume)It stalls when I let off the throttle hard, and it severely hesitates when I gas it. I have a rising rate fuel pressure regulator... will this work or do I need to get a fmu and have it tuned? I really don't want to drop any more $$$ than I have to. Thanks in advance...John

There are so many other ways to tune now, why would you get an FMU? Look into Crome, Hondata, Neptune, and so forth....Crome being the cheapest (free)

oh god. buy a hondata and take it somewhere to be tuned. take that FMU trash off your car.

you will need a socketed ecu and adaptor harness as well

and no there is no cheaper alternative lol

sorry I am new to this turbo stuff.... By "FMU"I was refering to the Hondata ect... what about the Vafc controller.... I drive hard and will run at the track occasionally, but I really just need the basics to keep it dependable. My car is a 4 door gsr grocery getter with two kids in the back...lol

FMU = fuel management unit

EMS = engine management system

you're talking about the second one....

the ems is something you cant cheap out on especially if this is a daily driver. pick yourself up hondata from any dealer, we can get you set up if you would like. then you have to get it tuned by a local tuner.

1. this is how you blow up the motor
2. if you didn't boost without proper fuel managment, you may still have a chance
3. you can go to hondata.com for list of dealers, theres also neptune, chrome.. theres a list of tuners inside here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1347699

you will need 92-95 ecu from civic/integra. for example: p28 (and if its chipped for tuning software of your choice then you save even more money). chrome, uberdata or whatever else similar to that out there are free. there are lots of choices.. research a bit, it doesn't take much to blow up motor under boost, you need proper fuel setup, managment and tuning. generally, intank fuel pump, larger injectors, spark plugs and properly gapped, f.p.r. helps and some type of EMS itself

Excuse my ignorance looking at the VAFC controller, it does pretty much the same thing as the hondata s100. I don't need rev limiter changes, a/c cutout ect.... So the VAFC should work well enough to keep my air/fuel right. I just don't want to pay for more than I have to. Expecially when my wife drives the car more than I do!

hondata is cheaper than the vafc, and it allows for tuning your ignition as well as air fuel, where as the vafc only tunes fuel.

Actually, S200 is 295, plus the boost option, which is 200 dollars. This comes to 495. Throw in the extra 100 bucks and you have S300.

If you are looking for hondata s100, I have them in stock, hit me up.

And if you are somewhat local, we can install and tune for you as well

s100 sounds perfect for him, he doesnt need all the bells and whistles of the s300, hes looking for a simple tuning solution that will tune his car properly and wont burn a hole in his pocket.

Unless you are getting S300 don't even waste your time with Hondata.

Crome if you want to save money. Neptune/Hondata if you need someone else to tune your ****.

CROME has the best interface out there.

Hondata and Neptune are funky as hell to use. They really need to learn how to design a proper GUI.

Surprisingly, Hondata has the most bugs of them all.

crome is downloadable off the internet
if you have the ability find someone local that will tune either crome or neptune rtp for you and you should be safe for awhile

i dont have a problem with crome..... tuned by philly dyno, we made 32x on pumpgas off the wg. and 450hp/315 torque @ 18psi on 93 octane pump gas(through a 3inch dp/2.5inch exh) i only paid 285 for the tune

Philly Dyno hooked it up great guys over there

to the original poster- check the sticky thread at the top of the forum.... there is a tuner directory, check for a tuner in your area.

In the mean time stop driving the car NOW!!! It sounds like you are running the car with a turbo and all you did was throw on inj. I will be surprised if you havent yet hurt the motor.
