Pearl paint question....
Ok, forgive my noobiness....if i paint my car with white paint, then a clear with pearl topcoat its going to look "brighter" than if i just painted it with a white pearl paint (no clear coat) aye?
I love the idea of the pearl, but looking at the white pearl paint job on some of the modern skylines it looks almost like a cream colour and i want mine a bright white...not cream.

the brightness/creamness of the white will be determined by the type of color you use for the car. the pearl is not going to make the white turn cream.

First off yes some pearls will make straight white look creamish like your talking about. Some pearls will make any color look different but only in sunlight. Sometimes pearl is mixed in with paint. Othertimes its not and just sprayed between base and clear (tri-stage). And you will definetly need clear. Ive never seen singlestage pearl ha

Not true. Only true when speaking of base/clear appications. Acrylic Enamels can shine, thats a one stage.
Anyways, your best bet is to go out, buy the Caddy white off the Escalades and spray that ****. If you put pearl in your clear (pearl is just powered mica) it will give a more pearl effect, like the same done with candies.
Chris
on a side note, I repainted my Cutlass with blue, green, and white pearl, and I dont have pictures from different days that look the same. Car always turns out different colours in pictures due to lighting, what it's parked near etc.

You mix the pearl with a binder.
