Can you hookup an MSD o2 sensor to the stock ECU?

Can you hookup an MSD o2 sensor to the stock ECU?
I tried it, but my A/F readings are always lean now, but I know I'm running rich cause I have the Field vtec increasing fuel and my fuel pressures are good. I cut the stock O2 sensor wire and connected it to the purple O2 sensor wire. Not working.
