It's a necessity, but by definition it is not an investment. So yeah buying a car is throwing money away, but what can ya do

nah not trying to be sensitive... just turned over a few cars over the years.. several for profit. By definitiion I've invested in cars in the past.
"Within personal finance, money used to purchase shares, put in a collective investment scheme or used to buy any asset where there is an element of capital risk is deemed an investment"
"A common concern with any investment is that you may lose the money you invest - your capital. This risk is therefore often referred to as capital risk"
my new SI though, is not an investment by standard definition but rather an investment in my safety (never had a car with airbags before
)

well the type-S is rare unlike the FG and FA si. and the Type-s is slightly better and better motor to work on.with more space.
the new si is just a nice stock car but the type-s is better stock and down the road.and its rare. 04-up are hot.

I hope you don't think that it's rare by the fact that they won't be making anymore. ITR is rare. Supras are rare. RSX is not rare. And even on the streets I see alot more RSXs than I do '06-07 Sis.
It does have more space to work with i'll give you that.

Whoa there. TYPE S is rare? there are are more Type S 's out there than SI's. In the end there will still be more Type S overall sales than the SI. Not to say the SI is not as popular, but it's productions aren't as many as the case with the RSX and RSX type S. So by saying the Type S is rare....longshot there....and to say the Type S is rarer than the SI, is just blastphamy!
For the value I think the SI is a better buy. And I personally think it looks better.
However.. you shouldn't need to ask what others think looks better, buy the car YOU think looks better. You shouldn't be picking a car that you can "show off" more.

my ep3 is rare,parked next to 2 black fg si's about 2 weeks ago.
the new si is not rare,sorry.good motor but not good to work on. it looks like the dx,ex and all the "base" models. theres going to be alot more 06-up civics then the base and type rsx ...period. the fg fa si look just like the normal civics. the new si looks just like the normals base models ,u see lots more of those on the road then the rsx.

In the year that i've had my car down here i've only seen a total of 5 Si's down here, but dozens of RSX-Ss. And that's including sedans AND coupe Sis. And we have 3 very large Honda dealerships and only ONE Acura dealership in a fairly large city.
Sorry to say but I have to disagree with you.
