Carpet replacement? help
so i jsut bought an oem carpet for my hatch, i want to replace my old one. i jsut wanted for someone to help on how its the best way to go about it. Where to start and everything. Help would be greatly appreciated?
remove the door trims and seats, then start at the front passenger side since it's not glued down, and pull back the carpeting to the adhesive use a heat gun on the adhesive as you peel back. once the old carpet is removed you can cover the floor pan in dry ice to freeze the adhesive and get a rubber hammer or something thats not going to damage your floor pan and break up the frozen adhesive. remove the chipped up adhesive before it thaws out. clean the floor surface and re-apply new adhesive. insert your new carpeting.
you may or may not need a heat gun depending how easily the carpeting wants to come out.
