99-00 EK tail-light conversion..?
Does the 99-00 Ek HB tail-lights fit right in my 98 ek4 hb?? or do i have to do a lil modifying? They look like the would just fit right in, is there a lil difference in them?
You might have to buy some amber colored bulbs uless you want to have white blinkers. I had that problem in my 96 coupe when getting the newer tail lights. Should cost only a couple of bucks.

Red/White/Amber are acceptable for blinkers.

White is not acceptable. You have to put amber bulbs inside your clear reflector housing.

i like the 99-00 tail lights..they look so much cleaner. but i might just get a set of 96-98 tailights and paint the amber, red. since the 96-98 tail lights r cheaper.
I was hesitant about painting the amber corners on my tailights so I opted for this method instead. They work great, ive had them on for over 2 years and they are NOT noticeable at all. They are very weather resistant (Canadian Winter tested 2 yrs running) and imo look alot better than the amber (maybe not as nice as EK9 models).

I used to have a set of those, they did hold up quite nicely. They're still holding up on the hatch of the guy I sold my tail lights to.

Hmm...I got pulled over for having white blinkers. The lady was a douche and she tried writing me up for a lot of other things.
Cop"I see you tinted your windows."
Me"Yup"
Cop"I don't have my tint gauge on me right now but you should stop into the station so we can check that out"
She didn't even give me a fix-it ticket.....Still got the white bulbs in and I haven't been pulled over since. Its been 2 years.

My bad, you're all Americans
Only thing it says through us is any three are acceptable and anything other than the three are unacceptable - as far as I know.
A LOT of cars have white blinkers around here, I've had cops follow me and never gave two *****. I am trying to think if there are any stock cars that come white, I am almost sure there are but I can't think of it off of the top of my head.

Not in New York... Red bulbs through a clear lens will net a ticket as will white bulbs. For turn signals to be red and legal, they need to be through a red lens/reflector.

Wow really? None of that goes on that I have heard of around here. Hell, some people run blue/white blinkers and no one says anything.
Yet anyways
