yea i'm planning on moding it now...i hate it that i got the wrong one but yea i guess i'll have to buy the guys at work lunch for them to make me a collector flange and i'll hammer out a 2.5" stainless steel pipe to make it a 2.5" mod...
You got the USDM ITR header which is 2.25" collector that matches the stock 2.25" cat back exhaust, and is CARB legal. What you wanted was the DC JDM 4-1 header with the 2.5" collector and it is not CARB legal. Actually any 2.5" collector header isn't CARB legal as far as I know.

No you don't. The 95-97 ITR has a 2 piece Tri-Y header that is the same as the one on all US ITRs (shown below). I know because I have one in my car right now. You probably have the real deal, but your not measuring the outer diameter...

I think where all the confusion is coming from is the fact that we don't know if you are talking about the stock cast iron manifolds (2 pc), the aftermarket (1 pc) 4-1 OEM replica's which are supposed to be slightly better than the OEM (1 pc), or a DC (DC Sports) 4-1 Type R header (2.25" collector), or the DC JDM 4-1 Type R header which has the 2.5" collector. Now outside of all these headers I mentioned, are a number of other manufacturers making their own versions of "JDM 4-1's" like Megan and Vibrant, EBAY, Password...etc...etc.. It would really help if you could give us the full name of the header you got as well as a pic in order to accurately tell you what you have.

I just measured my JDM DC 4-1 with a sliding caliper and I got 2 7/16" inner diameter and 2 9/16" outer diameter. So 1/16" less than 2.5" inner diameter and 1/16" larger than 2.5" outer diameter.
