Clutch Cable Problem
Sup, I ve had my b18c1 in my 89 rex for aobut a month now, It runs great buy I had a little problem today. I have a jdm s1 trans w/ a act disc and stock gsr pp. I had my clutch cable adjusted to about hafl way down and the clutch grabbed around 2 or 3 inches ferom the ground. Today I was driving around and I went to shift to third and the pedal got loose. So I pulled over and gopt out to see if the cable snapped but it was ok. Then I tightened the clutch cable and tryed again and it didn't work. So I did it agian and turned it all the way clockwise with about 4 or 5 turns left meaning the lever is now pulled up, I got in the car and it worked but it grabs so ****** low like a 1/2 inch off the ground. Is this normal or is it gonna **** up agian??? Or is it that the disc is now broken in so this is normal??? HELP PLEASSSSE

Have the same problem with my Y1 tranny...Just finished my swap about 3 weeks now and last week I felt the cable snap and lost clutch pressure. I
managed to yank it to first gear and got home from there. Luckily, I was only 3 blocks away from home...I adjusted the clutch cable all the way up now and for a couple of days it had a weird eeeiik sound everytime I step on the clutch like the springs needed oil or something...The sound went away eventually, but I'm still wondering why that was? Clutch is a bit low now and I'm not sure if I just didn't break it in right...

you might notice that the adjuster sleeve and the nut that is for the adjustment is made of plastic. Mine did the same thing awhile back. What I think is happening is the pressure from aftermarket pressure plate is cousing the plastic nut to slide on the plastic sleeve, Its amazing that no one sells one with metal parts instead of plastic, I just bought a new cable, it comes with all of the adjustment parts (still plastic) i've had no problems since

I for some reason bought an aftermarket clutch cable and it stretched and did the same thing yours did and left on the side of the road. I now have a Acura cable that fixed it, but a common problem for older efs is the pedal assem. Mine is cracked and now moves slightly. Therefore the cable go slack. I am going to pull it out and weld it. Check yours to make sure its not broken...your clutch pedal will lean to the left a little usually. Hope that helps..
mine grabs about 1/2" from the floor also. didnt have any problems with it. its a exedy street clutch with organic disc on my zc with si trans.
edit: well it was hard to press the clutch then after 6 months of that, the clip on the pedal ***. and clutch cable broke.
then i replaced it with a crx dx cable, now its smooth and no probs.
