Default What Motor is this!????? no pix sorry...

Hi...I bought a motor, but does'nt have the d-numbers on it because there was no transmission...The guy told me it was a ZC..That is the only thing stamped on the block and I think there's some serial number's underneath the ZC...It is a single cam, non v-tec for sure...But it is from JAPAN..He also told me that it is a obd-1 distributor and intake manifold etc...Also, it came out of an automatic cuz the automatic flywheel thing is still on the block.. My question's are;

What is the exact model number of this engine??

Is this from a jdm 92-up civic??

How the hell do you take the automatic thing off?? (does'nt look like there's bolt's on the housing outside!??)

What's the horsepower?? 130??

I looked at the alternator and the wire's and plug look the same as my 90si hatch 0bd-0??? Can I use this newer alternator in my 90??

aNYHELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED...tHANX

its a zc
remove the tranny and the flywheel and you can bolt up a manual set-up then, yes the alternator will work

The SOHC came in both VTEC and non-VTEC models.

^^ tis true. the 88-91 zc was only non-vtec, and the 92-95 zc i know for sure there was a vtec version, not sure if they made a non-vtec zc in those years tho

and to take the automatic thing you are talking about off, you will have to look behind it, there are bolts holding it from behind...take that off, then you can take then entire thing off...gl

Thanx Ek4!...your right!..That funny looking thing that looked like a donut was the torque converter (never seen one in a honda before), and took off all the 10mm bolt's behind it and the plate dropped off exposing the bolt's in the middle like on a clutch!..Kinda tricky, but figured it out when I kept looking lol...I was like how the hell do you take this donut looking thing off lol!...

Anyway I found out that this motor came out of a 92-93 civic coupe or sedan from japan with an automatic, it's obd-1 with the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold with two holes on the down pipe and manifold instead of one..I know for sure it's not from an EF...I guess this motor is same as D16a6 in U.S...They said it was like 130hp but I doubt it.. more like 120hp maybe..

Also it's a non-vtec from a 92 and it's an obd-1 JDM ZC single slammer...

Thanx for all the feedback everyone!..Gonna throw this in my crx on Saturday today!..I'll post some pix's if u guy's keep bumpin this thread!...latez...

90 white crx si....
