Default Need help with new tires

I just got some rims, there 17x7. My accord is stock height, so im looking at putting 215/45-17's on the rim. Will i run into any problems? I looked at the tire size calculator and it said it will only be 60.4 mph when im at 60. so thats perfectly fine, but i don't want to mess anything else up. I could get the rims with 205/40-17's for 100$ more ( kuhmo's) but there too small for my car.

Also, where can i get tires for like $150-$200 for summer only? I looked at tire rack but im not sure if there the cheapest.

Edit: Tire rack recommends 205/45-17's. Wouldn't those be too small?

You have a 94-97 Accord right? If so, that size is almost the exact OD as the stock tire. And a 205 width tire is fine for a 7" wide rim. They are fine to go with.

Went outside to check my tires size out(and damn is it cold)....my tire size is a 205/40/r17....and in my opinion the 205/45/r17 will fill the wheelwells better....the 40's just look funny without a 2"-3" drop....but hey its your opinion that counts....

FYI....I own a 91' DX 4dr

do not try to fill or judge fender gap with the side wall of the tire.

GrandHustleman86:
part the reason your 205/40/17 may look weird is because they are on the small side compared to your stock tire diameter, you should have went with a 205/45/17 to keep the OD of the tire as close as possible to stock.

sony224422:
the 215/45/17 should be fine. You shouldn't rub unless you have some weird offset in the rims you are buying. They'll just be a little oversize but nothing bad or that you should even notice.

I would definitely buy at a local tire shop rather than off tirerack, I don't know about the price comparison, it's probably comprable after shipping. But if you buy from a good local shop you can get free flat repair, roadside assistance, etc.
