Default Concerning Type R theft. (Lengthy)

Just been doing alot of thinking about when I get my R back on the road again. The fact that the theft rate has seemed to escalate out the roof in the past few months really makes me very aware of the problem but not paranoid.

Where I use to go to the mall or some place where my car was unattended for some length of time, those days are over! I made a point this will never be the case again. Not saying we as R owners haven't realized this in the past but we must take into mind that there a the scum of the earth thieves are really out there in vast numbers & well organized playing cat & mouse games (even w/ roll-back trucks) w/ H/T & many other forums on the internet to steal our cars.
It's rediculas having to take these precations but it's needed now more than ever. I just had to get this off my chest cause everytime I see another post "Stolen Type R in so & so area", it makes me sick to my stomach. I know how I'd feel (@ least I think I do) to look or walk outside or into my garage & see my car missing.
Not to beat a dead horse but, I swear there will be a day that one or more of these thieves are gonna get caught in the act & it's giong to get ugly quick. Luckily for me, I was able to store my car @ a relatives house way off the main road in the middle of no where till I can get it on the go again. Feel free to chime in guys. Thanks for reading such a lengthy post.

It's unfortunate, but you'll notice that in most of the stolen threads the cars have little or no protection. Rarely do you ever see anything more than an alarm, which we all know is practically just a useless 5-10second noisemaker.

In these instances, the thieves don't even make it a point to bring a tow truck. It just seems that most people aren't educated well enough on this issue.

The way I see it....if they want it bad enough, they'll take it. I don't condone theft, stolen parts, etc...karma has its way of getting around. Of course, I watch out for my stuff but you can't let it run your life.

On the other hand, I feel like leaving the R in a parking lot with the windows down and hiding in the bushes with an AK waiting for someone to attempt to take it. haha

My next move is to have more than one camera in my garage triggered by motion. Amungst other methods of madness I have. They want my car that bad, they're really gonna have to work hard.

How bad can alabama be? I'm being serious bro....

If I lived in....
SoCal
Sacremento
Modesto, CA
Miami, FL
Houston, TX
San Antonio, TX
Dallas, TX
NYC, NY
Anywhere, NJ (******* jersey)

then I'd be worried but you're going to be okay in alabama... take the standard precautions but don't let it expletive up your sleeping at night.

His car got stolen by a bunch of idiots who really didn't know what they were doing. He got his car back & is currently rebuilding it.
Alabama does have it's benefits I guess but, when a Type R was taken that close to home, then that just made me more cautious to the matter.
Maybe there's not alot of theft going on cause people here will shoot you! I'm not kidding! Live in the boonys where I do & you can here enough gunshots on a weekend that it sounds like Vietnam.

I fully know about the 97 stolen, I keep close tabs on all the danger zones.... All i'm saying is don't let thieves win, there isn't **** you can do... it's like walking around all day in the bushes waiting for a terrorist attack.... Take the necessary precautions to make their job hard or for the act to take longer and after that sleep well and make sure you have insurance.
