Are prop valves REALLY necessary??
My friend has 99-00 Si rear brakes on his 92-95 Ex coupe.
We were thinking about upgrading the prop valve, but don't know whether or not it's worth the time..
any suggestions?
after checking the FAQ, the best prop valves would be a 92-95 Si or a 90-93 Integra, right?

Well, the reason you change the prop valve is this...it may or not be explained in the FAQ.
Drum brakes, like you removed from the rear of the Civic, take more fluid pressure to operate, hence they aren't as efficient. When you put rear disks on without changing the prop valve, you are sending too much pressure to the rear calipers when you could be using that force to stop the car where it really matter, up front. Make sense? So, its not that the prop valve is really required, but if you want to maximize the braking effort, I would recommend doing it. The one to use is one that has 4040 on the output side (the side with 4 lines comming out). You will know you have the right one because only one bolt will fit on the firewall to hold it down. No biggie really, the lines provide plenty of support.

Are you locking up the rears before the fronts when you brake? If so you need a prop valve, otherwise you don't. (you can also change brake pads for more or less grip).
You might also need a prop valve it you want to increase the number of mods you list on your car.
