neither the b series cams or the pistons will fit a sohc block, the rods fit with some machining. there isnt a point in putting the pistons in they arent any stronger. if you are looking for more compression but staying stock go for some dohc zc pistons.

b-series cams dont work in sohc heads. ive never heard of putting b-series pistons in a D but it sounds like a waste of time and money.

like they said the b-series cams wont work as for the rods the ls rods are the only ones that can be used http://www.homemadeturbo.com/f...396.0. That used to be a good alternative to those expensive rods but tunertoys.com has rods for 200 and you wont have to go through that hassle.
