URBANRACER.COM TO CONTINUE SPONSORSHIP OF NHRA SPORT FWD CLASS
GLENDORA, Calif. (March 15, 2007) – UrbanRacer.Com, a leading online publication for sport compact performance, has entered into a multi-year renewal of its title sponsorship of the Sport FWD category in the NHRA Xplōd Sport Compact Racing Series, it was announced today by NHRA officials.
The sponsorship package includes a bonus award for UrbanRacer.Com Sport FWD contestants and opportunities for maximum exposure in the Sport FWD Garage section on the UrbanRacer.Com Web site. The UrbanRacer.Com Sport FWD Garage section will highlight the action from the Urbanracer.Com Sport FWD category at each of the NHRA Sport Compact events. The section also will include profiles on some of the quickest, most visible contestants in the class as well as spotlights on the winner of the class.
For each race of the 2007 season, the UrbanRacer.Com Sport FWD bonus award will offer $500 per race in addition to the regular NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Series payout. Event winners are eligible for $250, runner-up $150 and semifinalists $50 x 2.
“NHRA is pleased to have UrbanRacer.Com return as title sponsor of the popular Sport FWD class,” said Josh Peterson, general manager for NHRA Xplōd Sport Compact Series. “UrbanRacer.Com’s participation in this extremely important award program is a vital component of NHRA’s commitment to the sportsman racers, and specifically the Sport FWD class.”
In order to qualify for the bonus award, NHRA Sport FWD racers must display the UrbanRacer.com decal on their race cars during each event.
“Sportsman sport compact drag racing is our roots”, said Jackie Ling, director of UrbanRacer.Com. “So, we are proud to continue our relationship with the NHRA and do our part to help develop the next generation of professional sport compact drag racers. Our title sponsorship, the bonus awards and benefits that come with it, combined with the regional championships instituted by the NHRA make the UrbanRacer.Com Sport FWD category one of the most exciting – and most rewarding - categories to be a part of.”
