hey guys i no plenty of ppl hav already asked this but i havnt been able to find out so im comin 2 good ol' honda-tech boys. i gota 98 civic and im trying 2 do a 99-00 front end conversion. i keep hearin about sum radiator support ****. do i need it to do the conversion rite? and what exactly is it?

 

you can trim a part of the bumper so you don't have to do the core support

Swapping the radiator support will make a perfect fit that will look completely stock, otherwise you'll have two notches on the bumper.

 

ok but what does it take 2 swap the radiator support? is it difficult? could i do it myself?

First off I aggree with this guy. Secondly, the core/rad. support is the peice of pressed steel that you radiator mounts to and connects the left and right side of your car. If you had a welder, not hard to do as long as you tear everything off of the front end. To remove the original one, you will have to get a drill and drill out the spot welds that hold it on, then you slap the new one in its place and tack it in with the welder, then re-assemble.

The support is really not necessary. you still have all of the other bolts and you just have to cut two small slits in the bumper that is unnoticable unless you pop the hood and look for it. If you want to spend more cash and a lot more work, go for it. Otherwise do it the simple way.
