front end conversion
hey guys i no plenty of ppl hav already asked this but i havnt been able to find out so im comin 2 good ol' honda-tech boys. i gota 98 civic and im trying 2 do a 99-00 front end conversion. i keep hearin about sum radiator support ****. do i need it to do the conversion rite? and what exactly is it?

any1 dun a front end conversion WITH the radiator or core support or w/e its called? how much did it cost you. jus the welding part? and yea i dunno wer the support is actualy so without gettin flamed.... can sum1 tell me wer it is?

First off I aggree with this guy. Secondly, the core/rad. support is the peice of pressed steel that you radiator mounts to and connects the left and right side of your car. If you had a welder, not hard to do as long as you tear everything off of the front end. To remove the original one, you will have to get a drill and drill out the spot welds that hold it on, then you slap the new one in its place and tack it in with the welder, then re-assemble.

The support is really not necessary. you still have all of the other bolts and you just have to cut two small slits in the bumper that is unnoticable unless you pop the hood and look for it. If you want to spend more cash and a lot more work, go for it. Otherwise do it the simple way.
