Default Shopping for piston

Hey guys,

Im looking for 81.5mm between 12 and 12:5 or CR...my question is: When im looking at the product listing on each of JE, wiseco and arias...i dont see a lot of choice for 12 and up of CR for the b18c5 engine...but in the b18c1 section i see a lot more...can i just pick one up from the b18c1 chart instead of the b18c5 chart???

Thanks

the cr numbers listed for a b18c1 will be slightly off if you put them in a b18c5

best thing to do is take the numbers listed for compression height and dome cc and put them into a compression calculator like http://www.zealautowerks.com to give you a good idea of where it'll be.

s2s2's (similar to jun3's) seem to do very well in the 11:1 range.

the compression calculator is very easy to use. click on what block, crank, head, etc. you're using and when it asks for piston click custom and enter values for dome cc and compression height. that info will be available on the manufacturers website. dont forget to fill in the head milled and block decked sections if you've had that done.

Look at the B18C1 choices and it will be slightly less, but not much. Base your choice on the B18C1 applications.

Arias offers an 81.5mm 12.7:1 compression for the C1. We've been using and selling these alot lately. Lots of people looking for unsleeved setups that are in the 12:1-13:1 compression

Those calculators are a source for "getting an estimate" but I wouldnt rely on them as an actual calculator. its off and may not reflect what you are really looking for.
