Australian is getting their new Civic R? When will we have one!?
Sorry mod pls delete/move/merge if this is a re-post. My friend went to one of the local shopping mall in Sydney and took a few pix for me. Don't think they have the MSRP on this hatchback yet though.

theres lots of discussion about this in the civic forum. I doubt they will bring it over to the US, europe they made it for homologation, (or whatever they call it so they can use it to compete in various races)
It would definately be cool though. I'd so pick one up !
EDIT I stand corrected! Well, atleast from e-mag headlines

At a recent press drive for the Euro-market Civic Type R, Honda has announced that a variant of the hot hatch is coming in USA in 2010. They plan to offer a package in keeping with the Japanese-market Type R (read: four-door sedan), and include a horsepower boost and a limited-slip differential.
The prototype Type R (Japan) is powered by a 2.0-liter iVTEC engine with an output of 220 hp. But for the US market it is very posible to import the Euro-market Type R’s angular hatchback.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Any of you that have had a chance to drive the 4dr Si already know what an excellent platform this is.

Ugly bubble. I'm glad we got the DC2R. Only other R that would have been nice to get is the NSXR

top gear did a review of the new ctr & 19 of its european rivals
(clio 197/golf GTi/focus ST/renault meganne F1, etc) while it was the reviewers top choice it proved to be slower around the track than some of its more promineant rivals
spec:
engine 1998cc K20
power 198@7800
torque 142@5600
Kerb weight 1267kg
power/weight 156
0-62mph 6.6
top speed 146mph
it could do with a few more pony's imho, it certainly wont inspire me to gett rid of my itr
