Default rsx pistons

Hi

I am looking for a way to get some more n/a power out of my f23a1 ... other than bolt ons. I have heard of swapping in rsx ( i believe base, not type s) pistons, but I cannot find much info on the topic. Could anyone tell me more about this swap and what i should expect as far as hp gains and the new c/r. Also, does anyone have an opinion of http://www.importperformancepa....html. it is the only place I have found that offers something close to what I am looking for. Any help is appreciated.

Yep, they do have the same bore. But, my main worry is the compression height and final compression ratio. I have been searching the web and cannot find someone who has actually done it... where is pirate when you need him

im not sure on the compression ratios, i dont know the dome volume of the rsx pistons, but the compression height and wrist pins are the same between the 2 motors, the pistons will work in the motor, question is how much compression. remember you are adding 10mm to the stroke of a k20, so 11:1 in a k20 could end up over 12.5:1 depending on how many cc's the chambers on the f23 head are.

sounds like it will work. I'd be very interested to see what it could do. I always wondered why the F23 had dished pistons? maybe boost????

cause the engine is so big that it dosnt need a dome to have good compression.

I was thinking more along the lines of the base rsx pistons K20A3 with stock compression of 9.8:1. If i put those in my f23a1... do you think the compression would be like around 10-11ish?

The f23 combustion chamber volume is 50cc from

K20A3 head has 48cc combustion chambers from

im sure you are smart enough to figure out the compression ratios. now that you have the combustion chamber volumes, all you need is the head gasket thicknesses. and if you can find the piston dome volumes you have everything you need.

by my calculations you will have 11.8-12:1 compression if you use type S pistons in an f23 block
