Stck head lights suck...........
I do most of my driving in the R during the day, but lately have been doing alot of night driving. i realized the stock headlights just suck. You see like 25 feet in front and its pitch black. there is no transition of bright to less bright then to dark. It just goes from bright to pitch black. Kinda scares me at night too cuz i cant see. are there any bulbs i can get to help this problem out? or do i have to get HIDs to get rid of this problem?
lighting **** here.......
OEM HID retrofit takes the cup! Call it expensive, but many of us spend far more money on go go fast parts that aren't going to improve your safety at night like extreme quality lighting will.

have you tried adjusting the aim of your headlights with the adjustment screws on the side of the lights???? - the stock setting is very low (almost points to the ground).
I cranked mine to the maximum height (without dazzling oncoming drivers) and changed the bulbs to brighter ones - and I see fine.
Granted HID is amazing - but I would try the re-aim first to see if that does the trick for you.

i'm going to give this one a shot before i decide to invest in some HID's or not. The stock setting sucks.

best way to adjust them is to park your car facing a flat wall - that way you can monitor how the adjustment of the leveling screw affects the path of the lights.
Set the passenger side light a little higher than the driver side - it's the driver side one that annoys oncoming drivers the most

thanks for the info. hope it improves visibility a little better. i hate driving at night and notice a pot hole too late cause of the lack of lighting from the stock lights.

im kind of a newb at this. What skrews are you talking about? I really want to give this a try. Pictures would really help. is it just a twist of some skrew by the headlight to adjust?? Yeah the stock setting really does look like it just faces the ground.

HID retrofitting of S2000 bulbs or TSX projectors >***</TD></TR></TABLE>
fixed this for you! Misconception with HIDs are bulbs.... the projector is what makes all the difference. 4300K is going to produce the best light though.

TSX HID Retro:

A pair of projectors can be had for around $150. New aftermarket headlight housings are around $150. Bulbs and ballasts somewhere in that same $150 range. If you shop around you can retro a set of brandnew housings for under $500 and under $300 if you use your old set of headlight housings! Not too bad for the amazing visabilty (never mind bling) difference it makes at night.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of retrofitting either TSX or S2K projectors in my itr.
Which retrofit is recommended ? TSX or S2K? Is year of the projectors important (for example tsx 05-06 or 06-07)? I heard the tsx projectors are easier to fit.
Is it necessary to buy the ballast and bulbs, together with the projectors? On Ebay there are different auction for projectors with ballasts, without ballasts, with ballasts and bulbs. I'm planning to retrofit the projectors and install a 6000k HID kit.

TSX or S2K will give you excellent results. I would personally use the TSX just bc it is much cheaper and easier to source a set of the projectors. S2K are much more expensive and the quality is about the same. Those ebay kits will work fine, i would also recommend 4300K bulbs.
Sounds like you want more color too, which is why you would also want to use TSX. They tend to produce i wider band of colors. My passanger side produces every color in the rainbow, it is a very unique projector though.
edit... the bulbs that you get with those aftermarket kits will be useless once you retrofit. You will just need to find a set of ballasts and projectors. Buy brand new bulbs for the appropriate projectors. The 9006 HID bulbs that are supplied with those aftermarket kits will not work.

mine do
i've basically gone against every convention and just got an aftermarket kit with standard projectors and housings with 8000k bulbs
and they rock

That would work electrically, but you may have a hard time making the bulbs fit the projector housings. They fit the stock D2S bulb or a modded D2R.
