civic si towing capability tow weight
I was wondering if it would be possible to tow a honda cbr 954rr with my 2000 civic si? i am putting down 155whps 115 torque quiafe lsd. total weight is around 600 lbs 700 maximum
Do you have the owner's manual. The towing information should be in there. The only information I have is for the Integra, but the specs should be similar:
1000 lb. maximum total weight
~10% tongue load
You may also want to contact Quaife to see what their input is regarding towing.

Yes. It will not be a problem if the hitch is installed properly and you stick around the targeted weight.
People frequently use these cars to tow small motorcycle and jet ski trailers without issues.

Never in my life have I ever seen a modded civic or stock one tow anything. I'd like to see a picture (not that you can't do it or shouldn't, just kind of comical)...

You don't get out much then.
Go to any autocross or track day and you'll see many types of cars towing small trailers loaded with tires and tools (hence the reason I have a hitch on my CRX).
It's not a big deal if you keep the weight reasonable, drive smart, and load the trailer properly.

i think you should be fine...i mean its a given you wont be going too fast but who goes fast while towing a stuff...if you had a single cam i would think twice about it since its a dual the tow should be no problem...

Hell it can do it. I seen a red si civic towing 2 450r quads to glamis on a small trailer. And the dam thing was lowered. It must of been on coil-overs because there was no sag. And at boti I seen a racer tow his tires and tools with a small trailer and it ran 13's. The car was turbo by the way. So I say go for it. Follow the car information thats included with it and you will be fine. I would also do all the small maintnace thats need too. I.e. oil change, spark plugs, radiator fluids and tire pressure. Your car is not going to have a problem yanking that streetbike around.
its about the same weight as throwing 3 full size adults into ur car so it shouldnt be a problem.. and if u load ur car and tow it will be like putting 3 obese people into ur car which it should still handle just with adjusted power performance
It can pull it fine but wait till you have to stop. Electric brakes on the trailer makes it a lot safer. But most small trailers have no provision for brakes.
first off if there is a spot for a hitch and some one makes a hitch, that car will pull a single axle trailer, as long as you stay in limits. the bike trailer easy...wet bike yep... beyond that ..no
