well... i knew it.... the thing i feared the most happened to my car, well, my EX-car, my 98ITR #743 was stolen last night here in Montreal, Canada... i can't believe it, i gave it to the new owner last week, and I took delivery of my Jetta 1.8T on friday.... myITR was equipped with the boomerang (tracking device) and so far, they haven't found it....

i am sooo pissed off, that car was in mint condition, (the new owner was already posting 14.6 @ 97mph... and its bone stock, with 2.3sec 60 feets! ****, he drives it better than me!!!....... those beautiful 2 sparco supersport racing seats with harness (i knew it i shouldn't have sold my seats!)...., skirt kit, brand new engine tune up/brakes, the works... and brand new toyo RA1's......

anyway, for anyone in the montreal, toronto area, the sparco seats were very unique and not many around, the supersport adjustable/reclineable, i had them shipped directly from my trip to italy, they are black... so if anyone sees them for sale.. they are STOLEN... dammit, soo pissed...

Well, isn't that just f*cked up... not even for more than a week.... kill all the thieves.... we work hard for our sh*t... and to only have it stolen... this isn't fair.. isn't fair at all...

 

I have no clue how many R's get stolen in Canada per year, but i know that when i flip through the classified adds, there are many stolen/recovered R's... all without engine, tranny, wheels..etc..etc..

my ITR was stolen 2 years ago when i had it, and they recovered it with the tracking device i had installed on it... i was lucky i guess! however, theives are getting smarter and smarter, and they know how/where to locate or disactivate the tracking device.

I know that the 97 to 99 Integras were "easier" to steel cause they don't have the coded ignition key, my friend had a 2000 typeR and they broke into it, and couldn't start it cause of the key thing, so he was lucky, but eventually theives will know how to bypass that as well.

anyway, it sucks that the car got stolen, the new owner had parked it downtown (during my ownership , it was stolen in the downtown area too... witnesses actually saw 3 guys doing in my car but were affraid to report it, its crazy)... anyway, it sucks that its gone, i hope they find it, especially for the sparco seats.

i think i won't even bother modifying my jetta anymore, whats the point, put in all the work, effort, and not to mention $$$$ on a car, just for some bastard to take it away from you...

 

Another one bites the dust. This discourages me.

 

Thieves are the main reason I'm not owning an integra right now. I live in Jersey and ins is outrageous for a 20 year old male driving that car. Sorry to hear about what happened. Why can't people just go out and earn a living and buy what they want for once.

well, having owned a 98 ITR for 4 years, i am pretty much up to date on all the honda/vtec forums.. i had started one wayyyy wayy back in 98 with my friend Rob, had my own Montreal typeR club..., i was always pretty quiet on the message boards,... but never had the time to really get involved with it that much since i mostly worked on construction sites all day long, and never had access to a computer, now that i got "promoted" and work in a stupid office, sit on a stupid desk/chair all day, another major reason i sold my R was cause it was not practical for me to drive/commute to my office (in those crazy sparco seats) and drive around clients... so i had to get a 4 door (2002 jetta 1.8T) ...

anyway... i still loved that ITR, and just cause i sold it for a VW, doesn't mean i like VW's all that much... i do like this 1.8T its pretty cool, doesn't scream at high RPMS, and never the power of a typeR, and I like to kill VR6's with it, and still give thumbs up to R's when i see them...(they look puzzled and confused! i'm supposed to be the enemy now!! hahah..)

anyway.. guys take care of your R's...
