Default ebay special taillights

yeah i know im gonna get crap for this but i bought these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...d=1,1

now the only problem is that there is no light when brakes are pushed,
the outer parts come on when lights are turned on and for the turn signals,
but nothing on the lights on the trunk lid itself,

now they only had one plug in and obviously its not the right one.....so can i splice the wires somehow to make these work

any help is greatly appreciated

To be honest, I like those. Who gives a crap about what other people think. It's your car, your money. Do what you want with it.

I just ordered these:

And I'm sure I'll get crap for them also because they're somewhat of an "altezza" style, but so be it. I don't care what people think, as long as I like them I'm fine.

But back to your question, have you tried changing the bulbs? And, is it just one of the brake lights or both?

if you have some intution, and a little bit of knowlege, and a slight will power to get it done, it will work just sit down, look at your stock tailights, than splice, and re-wire your new ones to imitate your stock ones

sorry if that sounds like im being a dick, not trying

no its cool...and greatly appreciated....its the two lights that are on the trunk lid itself (91 honda accord) the stock lights have two bulbs and another plug in thing...whereas these only have one bulb slot...and neither of them work

Hmm, that's odd. When you order tail lights for your year car, they should have the same amount of slots for the bulbs. You said the bulb plugs aren't fitting into your new tail light slots?

do the lights fit your car properly? before i go cutting up the wiring i would talk to the seller (even tho you will most likely be chasing your tail)

if your determined to get it wired up in the near future, i would just splice into the wire for the bulbs that do work (since im sure that all the stock harness did)

but just so were all on the same page, you say have lights that are insalled on the trunk lid itself and there not working correct? but the other lights that you did install do work?

well you know how theres 4 sections....two on the fender area, and then the two on the trunk lid...

i have lights in the fender ones....those work when i turn on my lights and they flash for turn signals...

the actual brake lights( the ones on the trunk lid) are the ones not working right

they do fit....well the stock has two bulbs whereas the new ones only have one...im gonna fiddle with it when its light again tomorrow....but now that i think about it i may have been using the reverse light bulbs

Maybe check the bulbs. I know when I replaced my tail lights it blew out a bunch of bulbs at first. Not sure why but I haven't had a problem since changing them.

ok so after some tinkering in the daylight i came to the conclusion that

1. the pieces on the trunk lid are pretty much decorative except that they house the reverse lights only.

2. I managed to get my brake lights to work on the outer parts....

it was this little green box with a circuit board inside...which i assume is to control the brake lights...so i had to jack those off of the stock lights and blam now they work

thanks for all the input guys

ok this is how they look on there, and to get them to work there is this:

its a little green circuit board that is attached to the stock lights...just unscrew it and plug it in and all the lights should work

and yes i know my car is dirty, and yes that rust spot is going to get taken care of

I'm not one to bash someone for what they like....but not the biggest fan of how the lights look in the pictures. On ebay, they looked great. Did you order a different one?

I like them no matter what anyone else says.

I'll post some pictures of the new tail lights here once I get them and install them.

Yea, Camera phones take crappy pictures sometimes.

Yea, and everyone on H-T takes a slow car and try to make it go fast...however, you are not supposed to drive faster than the speed limit which is crazily low in most places. How about leaving the engine slow and leaving the engine reliable?

Accord forum is for "technical" discussion and help with issues. This guy had one of those so called 'technical' issues, because he could not wire up his lights. When others do a engine swap and cant wire up the VTEC or something, people here help them.

After he got it fixed, we wanted to see the finished product, because we spent our time helping. I am sure most people want to know the result of the problem they helped solve. Even though we might not tell people to go out and buy altezza lights, at least they would be able to see this picture and see the issues this guy had wiring up his altezza lights. Its called "helping people"

The lighting on the pic of that CD makes it look almost like a convertible.
