Need some help with my crx my motor won't turn off!!!
Hey I need some help I got a question about my 1991 Honda crx with a b16a the car runs fine just the motor won't turn off I can take out the key and all the dash lights and radio go off but the motor still runs. Only way I can turn it off is put it in first gear, hold the brake and pop the clutch. I can actually take the key out and drive the car, only need the key to start it. Over here the honda dealer told me it was the starter so I got a new one but samething still won't turn off. Any info will be greatly appreciated Thank You
You can also turn it off by squeezing the vacuum line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator. That way you won't wear out your clutch anymore.
I have no real idea on how to fix your problem though.

Doesn't hurt to take your ignition out and take a look at it. If you know what you are doing, then you can test continuity between each terminals in each different switch position (you'll find a 4 pins and 5 pins connector from the dash fuse box, to make sure you can trace those wires and it should link you back to your ignition switch). But like you said, if you can pull your keys out, then no dout that your ignition lock cylinder is likely broken (replace it).
It definitly is not the starter. It most likely is not your ignition switch. Most likely when you, or whomever did the engine swap, ended up crossing a non-switched hot lead back into the switched hot lead. I would backtrack and find out what wire or wires got wired incorrectly. If the dealer told you it was the starter, you got someone who did not know what they were doing!

Fuel pump cut-off switch. Good theft deter. and would save your clutch... interesting the fuel pump is still running after key removal but all other stuff cuts out...

I dont think its my wiring cause the car got the swap over 6 years ago never had igintion problems before this. So do you guys think I should buy a new igintion switch. My question is wouldn't the switch still be good if all the dash light and radio go off.
