Default cigarette lighter and gauge

i have an electric autometer oil pressure gauge
can i use the ground and the power (red/black, black) from the cigarette lighter without problems? (1994 civic ex) the intention would be to disable the cig lighter and keep the oil pressure light. i think it would be more than enough juice for the gauge.
comments?

yes that would work. you could also catch the red/black wire at the cig. lighter for the lamp in the gauge as this is the illumination wire.
