Default Scratch

Hi! I have a 2007 Civiv ex NHBP and I just noticed a small scratch about an inch long. Paint was rubbed off so it is white but skinny. What is the best way to fix it?

Touch up paint works, but noticeable. Try scratch removing products, if that doesn't work, get it repaired right (expensive though)

I would say leave it. Your car is not going to stay perfect forever. He, now you dont have to worry about scratching it for the first time.

i had a small scratch on my bumper. meguiar's scratch-x helped but it's still slightly noticeable. i got a quote from a bodyshop and it came out to be $600.00+

The repair shop said," No point in really getting it fixed, it will happen sooner or later. Might as well live with it."

Ya there was a scratch the day I got it but didn't notice it cause it was night so the dealer paid for that, but I won't pay to get it fixed cause it looks like a small piece of hair on it not a big deal. I just do not want it to rust or get worst. I am kind of worried to use touch up paint cause that might make it look worse. I think how it happened was my neighbor had small twigs sticking out in the alley and I didn't notice on my passenger's side.

Well now I got an even bigger scratch today. A Navigator rear ended me today. He was not looking. He only had a couple scratches. Whereas my bumper is cracked and bent, tail lights are cracked and my trunk is pushed in. Luckily no one was hurt and he had insurance.

So you told insurance about the "small scratch about an inch long" that this Navigator also caused, right?

Clean with rubbing alcohol. Touch up then 2000 grit ultra fine automotive sandpaper. Wet sand with running water, buff, polish and wax. If the chip or scratch is NOT through clear coat then no need for touch up just buffing will clear it up.

wow i thought it was as simple as applying it right on the chip.

my hood is full of chips, and i just colored them with touch up paint. but the original paint is high than the touch up paint. i guess thats where the sanding part comes in, which i suck at. anyone have pics on the sanding process? i might wanna try it again to get it perfect.
