Making a wire harness from scratch?
My car's got a severe case of the green-grody blues and is experiencing lots of sporadic behavior... Alot of the wiring is shot, even though the harness was replaced last summer with one that "looked" much newer... I'm not gonna buy another used harness, and new ones from Honda are looking mighty expensive ($400? My car's barely worth that much...) Fixing the current harness is looking to be a huge pain, and pretty ghetto (I already replaced the ground to the tps; now it works fine but doesn't look so pretty...) But theres still alot more wires that have a bit too much resistance...)
So my question is, has anyone ever created a new wire harness all on their own, with all brand new wires and everything? I know my way around wiring, so there shouldn't be any issues on that aspect.
Also, is it possible to get all those crimped connectors from a Honda dealer?

It is possible to get the pins and sockets from a honda dealer. However they are mighty expensive and want you to buy a special crimper tool. I've got one and I want to say I spent nearly $100 on the tool.
Or just buy the pins for all the different plugs and repin the connectors you have right now. The pliers for doing that correctly are pricey but wonderful to have once you buy them. I use them at work alot on pinning transmission TCU's and Cta engine harnesses.
Thanks alot for the quick replies. $100 bucks for the tool, and then all the wires and connectors... easily a good $200-300. More than I really want to spend right now....
One more quick question: I've got a 550 mile trip ahead of me, one way, and I'm deciding whether I want to take the car or not. The wiring causes it to throw a crank angle code every once and a while, kicking it into limp mode (of course). My question is, would it be safe to run the car in limp mode for that long, in the (rare) case that it does throw the code for the entire duration of the trip? Assume that I will be already running it at under 60mph the entire trip, regardless of whether there is an issue or not.
