what kind of paint should i use to paint motor?

Default what kind of paint should i use to paint motor?

i want to paint everything black. Head, block, tranny,intake mani..
should i just use that high temp spray paint? should i primer the parts first??
and will it stay, or will it chip like crazy?

You need to either get it ceramic coated, or use a 1200+ degree paint, like VHT Flameproof or Plastikote Hi-Temp.

Wouldn't the black paint help retain the heat instead of dissapating it?

anything hi-temp will work unless your trying to paint your header or something then go powercoating
