Help with Antenna
Starting about two weeks ago my antenna will not go up sporadically for a couple of days and then start working again (ghey antenna
). Has anyone else had this problem, or know what it could be?
On a side note my trunk light has done this same thing since I got the car. (Oct 2001)
Anyone…Thanks...

You might have a disfunctional antenna or your antenna mast might be messed up.. just check it... that happened to me before and it was my antenna mast.. it was getting weak and then one day the plastic wire in there just broke...but this was all in the GSR though...
I have the same problem with the trunk light, but I think it was when the alarm was installed it tapped into that for a trunk sensor. Have not bothered to look into it, don't really need the trunk light, I actually think it's useless
your going to have to take the rear cover out and trouble shoot to. Need to figure out if it is the motor or a bad connection. this should be easier if you have a remote for your stereo if it is a stock stereo you will need to keep going up to turn the key and turn on the radio.
Check to make sure all your connections to the motor are good.
If don't have a stock stereo check and make sure the remore wire is not loose.
Even if you have a stock stereo you can check for that.
The remote wire for the antenna is yellow, that is the wire that supplies power for the motor, make sure you are getting power when you turn on the stereo.
There are alot of things you can check but in the end it may be that the motor is going bad.
If you have a copy of Chilton's or Haynes it should tell you how you can troubleshoot.
Good luck.
