Minimum thickness for stock flywheel? Need to shave today
Sorry guys - I'm stuck without my helms at the moment & need to have my old stock flywheel shave as much as possible.
Can anyone tell me the thickness min/max for turning the flywheel?
Thanks in advance.

to make that info worthwhile... that is spec for runout i believe.... unless your flywheel is two thou thick
. Off the top of my head, i don't believe helms has a min thickness spec for the friction surface of the flywheel, or min thickness for the . IIRC they give a min thickness for the clutch friction surface only.
If you're shaving to reduce weight... typically, the machine shop will only go so far anyway... most of them don't like taking alot of the cast stock pieces.

You're only allowed to remove as much material as needed to balance
Unless there's another page besides the one Rob posted, you're SOL. Go get a Fidanza 8 lb flywheel and run Honda-Challenge!

Yea - SCCA rules suck. I have to remove my 7.5 Clutch Masters flywheel to put on this heavy sucky thing. Gotta remove my adjustable timing gears too - having them moved to "0-0" won't do the trick 'technically'.
I may even have to remove the new fastline shifter too. I really have to remember to check the rule book before I buy anything now

Going through the same thing to make my R D-stock legal. I will miss my 7.5lb Fidanza
. Not too excited about putting back on the stock Flywheel
