Default Would a 02 1.7L civic knock sensor work on a 97 d16y8??

I need a knock and my buddy has a 02 civic knock sensor and i need to know if it would work on my d16y8?? if not anybody got one for $50 shipped?

I think there totally different but I've never seen a 02 civic knock before and can't find any info on it....

I'd think that honda would change it being such a newer motor and being a 1.7L but I have no idea thats why I need help does anyone know if they changed it or not I know 96-00 obd2 or obd1 will work but my buddy has this 02 knock for cheap so thats why Im asking.

well as long as it will mechanically fit, it should work just fine. Just splice the plug from the 02 if its different. All knock sensors work on the same premise, and since its honda, the positive negative pulses should mean the same thing to the ECU. SHOULD MEAN. lol. Give it a shot, worst thing that could happen is a CEL.
