Quick OEM Lip Question

I just purchased an OEM 99-00 SI lip and i plan on repainting it. Now there are a few scratches on it and I would like to sand it down before it gets resprayed. What kind of sandpaper is reccomended for doing this?

From: I see what you did there.

You could level it out with some 600, move up to 1000, and then some 2000.
