Default Wiring Question (alarm related)

Hey fellas, haven't been on the boards in a while, really busy with school, but now that I'm on spring break, I've spent a little time with the R since it's been unusually nice out.

Anyways on to my question, it may need more detail so I will be happy to add if you request. When I bought my car (used) it had an alarm installed on it (a pretty cheap one at that), and I began removing it during my winter break. Now that I am back up and starting to drive it again, the wiring harness is still under the driver's side dash and needs to be removed.

Now, as with all alarm installs, wires are spliced into the original harness of the vehicle. It is spliced in really well and done correctly. Now that I removed the alarm "black box" where all the plugs to the alarm go into, I'm left with this nasty harness. I would like to cut it out and cap off the ends that are spliced in so it can sit nicely underneath the dash.

Below is a pic of the harness as it sits now and below that is an edited pic that shows which ones seem okay to cut.

***I think this should be in the audio/alarm etc. section, but I thought I would get more hits here and I know a number of you have been under the dash one time or another.

on to the pics

any tips are welcome

I'm not sure exactly what your question is? If you want to remove the harness for the alarm, I would recommend just cutting it out completely and then soldering the original wires back together. I would also recommend using heat shrink tubing over the soldered areas for a clean job.

My bad. The main question was, I didn't want to cut something and screw something up. Seems to always happen to me.

I did grab some heatshrink and have the soldering gun ready. Just want everything to sit nicely how it was stock under the dash

Well as long as you know which wires are the for the alarm , you will be OK. I would definitely remove them completely(if you dont plan on re-installing the alarm) and just solder the stock wires back together as opposed to just cutting the alarm wires short and putting a cap on them.

there is probably a wire that goes to your ignition 12 volt on wire. This wire is usually completely cut when alarms are installed not just spliced into. you want to make sure the two ends come back together. everything else is just cutting out crap.

If you wanted to save time and trouble of soldering..i would just cut the area you circled and use teh heat shrink to where it would hang off the wire just a lil bit for each wire you're cuttin..then i would wrap them with electrical tape individually..once that'z done, I would wrap all the wires together as 1 big bundle.. doesnt' have to be completly covered in electrical tape..just enough to keep them all in one like a snake. Good Luck!
