Hi, i have a Honda Civic 1999 and while I'm driving on the road, it will sometimes die randomly. My engine shuts off and if i park it to the side and restart it, the engine comes back on like normal. When that happens, my radio works, but my steering wheel and windows don't work. I have also heard about a recall with 1999 honda civics that have a bad ignition switch that causes this, but im not really sure if its true. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

 

sounds like you might of hit the nail on the head, that recall sounds familiar, i used to work at a honda dealership, but not totally sure what car it was recalled on

it also happened to me on my crx, after weeks of trying to figure out what was wrong, it came to be the ignition cylinder

my 99 civic ex did the same thing...i tried finding out the problem and found out nothing...at the time i was low close to E but not quite yet...( E light wasn't on) how did i fix it? well i poured in about 2 gallons of gas and it started right up. I'm guessing it wsa probably my fuel system.
