Removed door and door ajar is not registered by car after reinstalling new door
Here is a question that hopefully someone might be able to answer for me. My 2006 Honda Accord LX was recently in a minor accident. The driver's side door had to be removed and replaced with a new one. the auto body shop said they disengaged the 4 bolts and wiring harness holding the door in and replaced them when a new door was installed. However, the door ajar light, dome light, and door puddle light do not come on when the driver's side door is on. the car thinks the driver's side door is always on.
All of the other doors work with no problems.
Please let me know.
Thanks!

The auto body shop checked the connections multiple times and said that it is fine. however, the Honda dealership said something about a harness could easily be damaged (something about crimping or stretching). Has anyone heard of this or possibly some type of "reset" someone has to do after a door is removed?
Thanks again.

does anyone else have any ideas? I'm really at a loss for knowledge in this area.
Please let me know.

when the body shop checked the connections, did they just verify they were all plugged in or did they actually verify that none of the wires in the harness were damaged?
I don't know about '06s, but on the older year models the switch that senses whether the door is open or closed is on the bottom of the B-pillar, not the door itself.
